New words needed
These new words are part of a set that's been doing the rounds of the internet this week.
To be honest I wish I'd thought of them.
So clever.
Especially Chairdrobe which sums up both of my kid's bedrooms perfectly.

There's small and there's Smart
I was working in the UK when the Smart was launched. I still remember the launch ad where two Smarts reversed into a single parking spot. This ad takes that great product demo a step further. Pretty sweet don't you think?

Car ads are getting worse
Car ads have been a bit shit for some time.
The globalisation of the industry (and their agencies) has definitely not helped.
Boring ads for boring cars made by bored expat creatives in regional head offices.
The warranty offer below for Toyota is just brilliant.
Seems like every new car these days has a better/longer warranty that the last.
Hate to say it but I miss the good old days of motoring.
We may have been less safe behind the wheel, but we were certainly more in love with the thrill that motoring offered.

Stihl is out of this world
In space no one can hear you scream. They probably can't hear you using a leaf blower either. Which is good as they're rather noisy. Bloody great product demo though! Creative by Altmann+Pacreau.

Tripods!
Obviously the people behind this are more than familiar with the early Pixar Anglepoise Lamp short film. Still pretty damn cute though!

Very well Finished
Let's be honest. A brief for a dishwashing powder really doesn't sound like a great creative opportunity.
So kudos to the always reliable W+K London for coming up with something unexpected and interesting for Finish.
Fabulous film technique too.

Life explained in 27 secs
Short and to the point. This little film was based on a tweet by the film making Farrelly Brothers. Pretty good don't you think?

Shot on iPhone 6
As a wannabe young copywriter I was told time and time again that you can't beat a good product demonstration in an ad.
Which may explain why I'm such a fan of the 'Shot on iPhone 6' posters that have been popping up around town.
To be honest there's nothing overly clever about the campaign. But for me that is what makes it so powerful.
Everytime someone sees an image on a poster they probably say to themselves "They shot that on an iPhone?"
Because I know I did.
There's a great gallery of these pics on the Apple website. Click here to take a look.

Kia wrecks the alphabet
The fact this ad comes out of Dubai and it's for an auto-maker rather than a road safety organisation makes it seem suspiciously scammy to me. But what the hell. It is a damn fine idea and beautifully executed.
