Meet Sterling, Cooper & Draper

Big thanks to the girl so nice they named her twice, Yan Yan, for tipping me off to this excellent set of MadMen posters.

They're by the very talented Christina Perry and are so stylishly simple I'm sure even The Don himself would approve.

I'm lost for words

I came across this poster on a Russian site called ADME.RU.

Certainly eye catching that's for sure.

But what's it an ad for?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Believe it or not it's a poster for the 28th Bienale of Graphic Arts in Slovenia.

Yes I can't see a link either. Although I guess it is quite graphic.

Help make a difference

Freedom of expression is something most of us take for granted.

Sadly this is not the case everywhere. The recent Iran elections being a particularly bad example.

Poster4Tomorrow is a design competition aimed at raising awareness of repression.

Click here to find out more.

The best 100 posters will be published in a book and exhibited in Paris.

And 5 of them will be added to the permanent collection of the Lahti Poster Museum in Finland.

Legal art Vs Illegal ads

I was very surprised to discover recently that there are literally hundreds of illegal billboards in New York.

The ads on these poster sites are legitimate. It's the sites themselves that are illegal.

Street artist Jordan Seiler decided to do something about it.

Seiler organised a street advertising takeover which saw over a hundred of the illegal billboards whitewashed.

The resulting blank canvases were then given over to a group of artists to express their creativity on. Sounds like a fun idea to me.

Before and After

Old George W and his Whitehouse cronies are long gone. But it seems it may take a very long time before people start to forget many of the things that they were responsible for.
