Addicted to technology
These pics are from a series of illustrations exploring our addiction to technology by French illustrator Jean Jullien.
He's become very well know of late as they guy who created the recent 'Peace for Paris" symbol.
Talented guy with a very interesting approach.

No straights...
It's not often I feature an old school classified ad.
Which has now got me thinking how long it's been since I perused the Saturday morning classifieds looking for a bargain.
Anyway...
I found this ad on David Hepworth's 1971 blog.
Definitely a throwback to a time long gone.
Just take a look at that copy. Classic generation-gap stuff!

Pocket art director
A lot of creatives like to get out of the office for a while when they're trying to crack a brief.
Well I know I do!
So I'm tempted to get myself a Pocket Art-Director.
Fun 20 sided dice that help break your thinking patterns.
Kinda like Brian Eno's famous Oblique Strategies.
But in dice form not cards.
Get yours here.

Candide Thovex & Quattro
Pretty sure the Gene Genie would approve of this cracker of a spot for Audi Quattro.
No idea who Candide Thovex is but I'll definitely be googling the name when I finish work.

Naked work for Xmas
Big fan of Eleanor Friedberger so very excited to see her turn up in an ad. Especially at Christmastime. Nice work from Naked NYC.

Life's a shindig apparently
Earlier this year my local Coles supermarket started stocking Tyrrell's crisps (or chips as they're known in Aus).
I'm a big fan of their olde Englishness. Which is on full show in their first ever outdoor campaign by the ever reliable W+K London.
For all you trivia fans reading this the creative team search through 360 packets of crisps to find the most photogenic ones for the shoot.

20 years of Pixar
He probably doesn't remember it, but a long time friend and colleague from my days at JWT told me to go and see an animated kids' film called Toy Story. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago!

Mini YouTube race
Love Mini. Love skipping ads. Love this idea.
Really nice work by Kinetic Singapore.

Feck perfection!
Every time I see a piece of my work out in public I see things in it I wish I could've done better.
I think that's just how it is when you want to do great work.
But sometimes (actually most of the time) you need to know when to stop working and say it's finished.
It ain't always easy. But that's just the way it is.

Thoughts on adland
If you work in adland these two cyclical thought patterns from Hugh McLeod are pretty much all you need to be successful.
Now get out there. Get collaborating. Get inspired. And go make something happen.
