One of the curses of being a copywriter in the digital age is everyone has a keyboard.
So everyone thinks they can write.
Not only that but they often think it's easier to rewrite a draft of copy than it is to pick up the phone and discuss things they may or may not like.
Well now it looks like the same thing could happen to designers and art directors.
Triangle Draw is an easy to use iPad app that lets just about anybody create simplistic logo devices based on triangles.
Yeah I know what you're thinking - triangles?
Trust me on this.
The designs created with Triangle Draw are very simplistic and almost retro in their triangular style.
And somewhere out there in client land a marketing manager is playing with it on their iPad and wondering why on earth they would commission a designer to do what they can now do themselves.
Don't say I didn't warn you!

This truly frightens me. I am a copywriter so everyone owning a keyboard is definitely a bit of a downer. It affects everyone though. I live with an actress who tells of jobs getting snagged by stars of YouTube, photographers who lose jobs to photo-bloggers. What will we do!?
The fact that there are now gadgets, software and applications that could make people do their own logos, write their own content and even develop their own website is indeed a bit frightening, Stan. The saving grace is graphic and web designers have cards up their sleeves that all these stuff do not. These are creativity, the knowledge of what really works and what doesn't and the ability to develop something into something more. In time, people who resorted to making their own thing even if they do not know how really or have limited knowledge about it will still come running to the experts.
