Put them away Pammy

When I see ads like this I have to pinch myself to ensure that I haven't gone back in time.

Honestly what on earth were the people from Crazy Domains thinking!?

And as much as I am a defender of freedom of speech I am more than happy to hear that the Australian Advertising Standards Bureau has banned this ad from our televisions.

Although I suspect it will now spread like wildfire across the internet.

As you can imagine the boss of Crazy Domains can't understand all the fuss and has pointed an accusatory finger at ‘feminist bloggers’. Classic!

Like sure, I've come up with ideas like that late at night with deadlines pressing and a beer or two firing my neurons a bit randomly, but I've never actually presented them to a CD, let alone a client.

Wow. Like you stan, I'm amazed this got onto TV, but I'm more amazed that it was presented, bought and produced for not an inconsequential amount of money.

I'm with Mike - How much would this have cost in production?

Of course the CD manager is confused as to why it was banned, he paid someone alot of money for that one minute of milk, mud and mugs!

Someone forgot to read the standards didnt they?

I think this is why I'd make a terrible brand manager.

Because I'd let stuff like this slide...

... well if it was a good ad I would anyway.

You guys must not be familiar with GoDaddy.com, which uses the same format of advertising (using Danica Patrick) with the intent of being banned. Then they get loads of free PR and don't have to actually buy any media.

It's the same business, and they've just copied the ad model for a new country.

They likely had no expectation that they'd be able to run the spots.

i'm happy to be blamed for this not appearing on TV. i knew nothing about it, but i'm a feminist blogger and clearly have loads of power over the cuntingly bad spots that end up being banned.
