Best use of video in 2008
I was going to title this post best viral for 2008 but I couldn't be bothered with all the rants and comments from social media specialists going on about how you can't call something viral because only people can make it viral etc etc.
So in the interests of peace and quiet in the comments I present to you the most popular video created to spread a message in 2008.
The video was chosen by GoViral not me.
Their choice was based on compiling numbers of views from Youtube, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Break and Vimeo.
A very worthy winner.
By the way, if you're interested in ROI on the video I'd suggest you contact the Whitehouse.

Get with the cliches Stan.
It's not a video or a viral.
It's a film.
Hate to play the devil's advocate, but can you really measure a video's success on the number of hits it receives?
But yeah, pretty awesome work by the guys behind it. And what's with all the Unicorns lately?
Unicorns are a mystery to me Zac. Maybe it's a viral meme thing that no-one told me about.
I believe it's a digital film.
Film is so 07.
In the end, the reason its succeeded was the strength of the idea, rather than the fact that it was online.
All those years ago, people loved the original idea, which went viral despite being propogated by that 50-year-old medium of 30 second TV ads). Now they wanted to see what happened to the Budweiser guys.
Great work whether on telly or online.
