Just what the world needs

Read all about it here. If you can be bothered that is.
I don't know what's worse - the fact the Blog Council is issuing a book of this type or the fact that there actually is a blog council.
The weird and wonderful world of brands and communication

That's a lot of text...
I'm more worried that the words blog and blogging are unlined as though the dictionary doesn't understand them!
I never noticed the underlining to be honest.
I set the headline using Word.
Like most computer related terms blog and blogging are not recognised by the Microsoft spell check.
Weird.
A day or two years late. Typical of new media train jumpers.
I will start with a disclaimer ... the company that I work for is a member of the blog council, though I have no involvement ;)
There are some serious questions that need to be asked by enterprises looking at social media and blogging. The sheer scale of the undertaking and its potential impact requires good business thinking, alignment with business strategy and a long term commitment. This means people and money.
I think both the book and the council are good ideas and would certainly prove useful to some of the big Australian brands who are dipping their toes in the space.
I accept your point Gavin.
I just hate seeing official bodies set up for what is, essentially, an amateur movement.
My favourite blogs are written by passionate people who did because they have to.
The blogs I avoid like the plague are those set up to help people make money off blogging.
I'm rambling now, but you get my drift.
LOL ... love that you are rambling -- esp as you are the most non-rambling blogger that I know ;)
I think the best corporate blogs are the same. Still run by passionate folks who want to do their jobs in more direct way. Otherwise, they are just fancy "press rooms" pumping out the the trite company line.
And while I dont have any direct visibility into what the Blog Council are doing, they have good people involved - including Valeria.
