This is nitpicking, but in fact Edison copied the design for the lightbulb from Joseph Swan, an Englishman, and used an advertising campaign to fraudulently promote himself as the real inventor (proof that advertising can be used for evil as well as good, ay stan!).
It's a great sentiment and a great quote you've posted, but Edison isn't the greatest exponent of it unfortunately.
