This car's fully loaded

I've done a lot of automotive work during my career.

Ford, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Renault and Nissan.

And it get's harder and harder to come up with new and interesting ways to get people to buy a car.

Maybe I should just follow the example of Max Motors and throw in a nice hand gun* with purchase.

So much more tempting than a free set of car mats. Don't you think?

*Offer expires June 1st.

This is simply astonishing. It is a huge slap in my face that I live in a bizarre alter-world where something like this could NEVER exist.....and yet ...IT DOES.

Reality. Comedy....bizarre

I hate to say it Marcy, because it's such a cliche, but...only in America!

So you're saying I can get a hand cannon with my Kia?

That's awesome.

imagine the world of possibilities for lines with that kind of deal: the drive-by special! awesome.

i like the line: 'it's getting harder and harder to get people to buy a car'. i could imagine a honda or VW ad saying something along those lines.. 'we've run out of ways to get you to buy our cars. so we suggest you catch the train (or buy our bikes) instead'

nice try Lauren, in a perfect world! hehe

Though you did spark something in me with "it's getting harder and harder to get people to buy a car"...

maybe the next sentence could go...

"so instead of creating nice pretty ads that try to convince you, we invested our time and money into making the best damn product possible. We'll leave the rest up to the car itself. That is all."

Of course, a good copywriter like Stan could articulate it better but the thought it there.

Just to be straight, they didn't really give you a gun. They give you a $250 check to do what you want with. The gun ploy is just that - a ploy.

That said, if I was a disestablishmentarian car dealer, I probably would have just given out a gold coin or a hand-tooled Bible, or something a little less polarizing. But how much free advertising would that get me?

But I'll never flip off anyone in a Cadillac Catera again.

I love the idea of free gun or free petrol, because if you choose the gun you could probably get free petrol anyway!
