Mac mnemonic

It's early days I know, but the manila envelope that Steve Jobs used for the launch of the Macbook Air is one of the best ideas I've seen in ages.
It's stayed with me for days.
Unlike the computer itself, which I fell out of love with the more I got to know about it.
A boring old manila envelope. Who'd have thought?

With you on that one Stan. Simple but very effective. Every piece I read about it seemed to phrase the Air as the 'laptop that fits in an envelope'
The computer doesn't have an optical drive and seems to cost as much as a Macbook. Not too sure who it is for - female executive types? Reminds me of the Porsche Cayenne (I have always thought it spoiled the Porsche brand). Trying to widen its appeal away from the hard core like me - I like my MacBook pro because I can do everything with it - music, movies, writing, design etc - a lightweight machine to compete with notebooks doesn't chime with me.
I was wrong about the Cayenne, but I did sell my Porsche and have nothing but disdain for them now. ;-)
I don't think you were wrong about the Cayenne David. I don't see a 4wd as Porsche either.
As for the Macbook Air, I was all set to buy one, but no disc drive, only one USB port and a mere 80gig of memory put me off.
Did you see those two girls who saw the manila envelope stunt, and then quickly designed a lined vinyl carry case which looks exactly like that same manila envelope? Totally quick off the mark.
It's a nice case study for clients and agencies: creative ideas don't have to be complex to be worth the money you are spending.
(I can hear clients say; "my three year old could have thought of that")
AirMail by ManilaMac - the envelope carry case, looks like more of a con than the Macbook Air itself. Both are selling like hot cakes... apparently shipments of the case are already heavily delayed.
