Updating status update

As I mentioned the other day, I'm addicted to status updates on Facebook.
What bugs me about the feature though is the way 'is' is included in the update.
You can't see it when you update but as soon as you publish - there it is.
As such you get loads of people whose status is described as 'is was' or 'is has' etc.
Obviously I'm not the only grumpy old man who's not happy about the 'is' because Facebook have just announced that they're getting rid of it.
And I can't wait.
Sad I know.

I have to confess, I secretly enjoyed the challenge it posed. But yes, the freedom and flexibility will be nice. Mostly though I'm happy for the millions of non-english speakers who have been dying to write in their own language yet forced by the 'is' to write in english...
like angus, i secretly enjoy the 'is' restriction, just like i secretly love the challenge of answering twitter's 'what are you doing?' question. but i also agree that getting rid of it would be be nice every now and again.
