No, not that kind of thong

We call them thongs. The Poms call them flip flops. Whatever you call them this is certainly a fun way to promote them.

BBDO New York commissioned several building size murals by street artists, who were given pretty much an open brief.

The agency then attached huge rubber straps and an outline and before you know it they has a series of colourful ads for Havianas.

Heaps of fun. Just like thongs.

I think 'jangles' is the worst name for a thong
especially said with the nz accent

Do poms include Scots folk as well? We do call them flip-flops also, so when I hear thongs I think of underwear, always had to stop and think when i was in oz. But, what do you guys call thonged underwear then?

Anway - the advert, i like it, sems a bit of a trend at the moment though to use street art as an advertisement. i wonder how long it will be until consumers and grafiti artists alike get sick of it... If many haven't already.

But, as I say, I do like it, and if it's brightening up an otherwise dull wall, why not.

Yea, but over here, we have thongs and G-strings, only slight difference, with thongs you have more material shoved up your ass, just a piece of cheese wire with the other. Saying that, it's probably only a distinction women make
