Beer + Milk = Bilk

Following last year’s milk surplus in Japan, a brewery has found a way to put excess milk to good use.

Bilk.

It’s a bizarre combination of beer and milk.

I can’t see a drink like Bilk catching on here in Australia, but stranger things have happened I guess.

It’s apparently got quite a fruity flavour and the brewer thinks it will become popular with women.

Sounds suspiciously like an alcoholic version of Yakult to me.

I’m off to Japan late next month. If I come across a bottle of Bilk I promise to give it a try and tell you all about it.

one time i tried milk and gin. it was disgusting. i feel like milk doesn't go with alcohol...it's like good against evil or something.

My brother when we were younger once mixed orange juice, coke and milk. I never sampled the results but I think it could safely be said it would have been disgusting. Maybe it was one of the R&D employees children that came up with this idea.

Why oh why would you want to combine these two drinks?

this brewery also has "blue", "green" and "red" beer. The blue beer is made from water from icebergs
