Creative Sustenance


Once upon a time, in an agency far far away, my Exec CD came back from lunch to find the creative dept deserted.

He was so pissed off he left a memo on the desk of every creative.

It said, in a nutshell, "Great ideas will never be found at the bottom of a beer glass!"

Perhaps we should have been partaking of this hearty and nutritous soup at lunchtime instead.

Your old CD was right Mr Stanleee.

That's why I've banned drinking during working hours at my agency.

Of course we have a great rooftop bar where everyone gets totally smashed every night after work, but that's a whole 'nother story.

They teach us from an early age here at RMIT. You know, our copywriting teacher after you left decided to take us to Cookie for a few drinks instead of working on briefs. Ed bought him a mysterious shot and we don't know how he went teaching the next copywriting tute straight afterward.

Needless to say he doesn't teach here anymore. We do miss you. Thanks for the kind blogging words.

You could also say that great ideas are found in the outside world, not staring at the inside walls of an agency - as long as the outside would isn't the bottom of a beer glass all the time ; )
